Three Heisman candidates known for their Christian faith

UPDATE: Big congratulations to Sam Bradford! It was the closest Heisman voting since 2001!

When voting ends and the votes are tallied the Heisman trophy is likely to end up in the hands of one of these three men: Tim Tebow of the Gators (who won last year), Sam Bradford of the Sooners (who will play the Gators in the championship), and Colt McCoy of the Longhorns (who unfortunately will be left out of the championship due to BCS weirdness). Each one has garnered a lot of respect on the field for their skills as quarterbacks and for leading their teams to some crucial victories.

All three are also known for their Christian faith. Sam Bradford is very involved with Oklahoma's Fellowship of Christian Athletes - as are many of his teammates. Here's an interview he did about his experience with sports and FCA.

In an article for The Christian Chronicle, Colt McCoy's Christian faith and time with FCA is discussed. His father states, "The decisions he [Colt] had made through his life, all the sacrifices to become a great football player, most of those are Christian sacrifices, too ... Socially, he was always making sure he was a strong, Christian influence on others.” (Couldn't find a video...)

Tim Tebow's faith should be well known since it is regularly mentioned that he spends each spring break going back to an orphanage in the Philippines and often speaks about his faith to groups in the states. Here's a video from ESPN on Tim's faith.

Other front-runners may also be strong Christians but I couldn't find a good article to quote. All three of these QBs, though, are great players and strong Christians and I can't wait to see what happens at the award ceremony.
